Steps to add clips to sequence in Premiere Pro
- Create a new project
- Step 1: Open
Premiere Pro, then click the New Project button from the welcome screen.
- Step 2: Enter a name for your project and adjust settings such as location or scratch disks, then click
Create to begin editing.
- Create a sequence
- Step 3: Click
File in the top-left corner, go to New, and select Sequence.
- Step 4: You have two options:
- Option 1: Choose a preset setting that Premiere has made up for you.
- Option 2: Go to the
Settings tab and configure your own sequence:
- Choose an Editing Mode
- Enter a custom resolution (e.g., 1920 x 1080)
- Set your desired FPS (e.g., 24, 30, or 60 frames per second)
- Step 5: (Optional) Enter a name for your sequence, then click
OK to create it.
- Add clips to sequence
- Step 6: Import a video by pressing
Ctrl + I or by clicking File and selecting Import, then drag the video into the Timeline panel.
- Step 7: Adjust the video on the timeline to match the sequence settings. (If your video resolution is 1920 x 1080, it will align perfectly with a matching sequence.)
Result: Your video clip is added to the sequence and correctly aligned with your chosen resolution, ready for editing and export.
Tip: If your video doesn’t match the sequence settings, right-click the clip and select Set to Frame Size to auto-fit.
