Steps to create a block in AutoCAD
- Step 1: Open AutoCAD, then on the tools bar at the top left, go to Insert → choose Create Block.
- Step 2: Enter the block's name → under Base point, click Pick point, then in your drawing, select the point you want as the block’s insertion point.
- Step 3: Under Objects, click Select objects → then click and drag to select the object(s) you want to include in the block.
- Step 4: Under Behavior, check Scale uniformly → under Block unit, choose the appropriate unit (e.g., Millimeters, Inches) → click OK.
Result: A new block is created in AutoCAD, combining selected objects into a reusable component with defined insertion behavior and consistent scaling.
Tip: Save blocks in a dedicated library folder for quick access across different projects.
