How to Freeze the Top Row in Excel

• Option 1: Use Keyboard Shortcut
  • Step 1: Press Alt + W + F + R.
  • Step 2: This instantly freezes the top row of your worksheet.
• Option 2: Use the Menu
  
  • Step 1: Click the View tab in the top menu.
  • Step 2: In the Window group, click Freeze Panes.
  • Step 3: Choose Freeze Top Row.

Result: The top row stays visible as you scroll down through your Excel sheet.

Tip: Freezing the top row is especially helpful when working with large data sets that have column headers.
