Steps to gradually increase or decrease audio volume in Premiere Pro
- Step 1: Open your project in
Premiere Pro, right-click in the Project panel, and choose Import to bring in your media clips.
- Step 2: Select an audio file or a video clip with audio, then drag it into the Timeline panel.
- Step 3: Locate the thin horizontal line across the audio layer.
Move your cursor to that line and drag the edge of the audio track downward to expand it.
Press the + key on your keyboard to zoom into the Timeline for more precise control.
- Step 4: You will see a visible line in the center of the audio track.
Select the Pen Tool from the Tool Bar.
- Step 5: Click on the audio line to create a starting keyframe.
Click on another point to create a second keyframe.
Drag the second keyframe up to increase the volume or down to decrease it.
- Step 6: To delete a keyframe, switch to the
Selection Tool in the Tool Bar, right-click the keyframe, and choose Delete.
Result: The audio will gradually increase or decrease between the keyframes, allowing for smooth transitions in volume.
Tip: Use multiple keyframes to shape complex volume fades or adjust specific moments within your audio clip.
