Steps to insert a line in word

• Step 1: Click on the Insert tab on the ribbon to open the insert tools.
• Step 2: Click on Table, then insert a 1x1 table (just one cell). This gives you a container you can use as a visual line.
• Step 3: Once the table is inserted, click the small Borders icon in the toolbar (you'll find it under the Table Design tab when the table is selected).
• Step 4: From the dropdown, select Outside Borders or Bottom Border to display a horizontal line effect.

Tip: After inserting the table, you can stretch it across the page and remove other borders, leaving just the bottom one to act as a line.
