Steps to insert multiple rows in Excel by dragging

• Step 1: Select the entire row or rows you want to move by clicking the row numbers on the left.
• Step 2: Hover your mouse over the edge of the selection until the cursor changes to a four-sided arrow.
• Step 3: Hold Shift, then click and drag the selection to the location where you want to insert it.
• Step 4: Release the mouse button to drop the rows — Excel will shift existing rows down automatically.

Result: The selected rows will be inserted at the new position, and existing rows will adjust accordingly.

Tip: You can use this same method to insert columns — just select column headers instead of row numbers.
