Steps to lock your Facebook account

• Step 1: Open Facebook.

• Step 2: Click the three lines in the bottom right corner, scroll down, and choose Privacy.

• Step 3: Go to Settings, then under the Meta Accounts Center, tap on See more in Accounts Center.

• Step 4: Scroll down and choose Personal Details, then go to Account Ownership and Control.

• Step 5: Click on Deactivation or Deletion, select Facebook, and click Continue.
  Log in to your account. In the Automatically reactivate my account in selection, choose Don't reactivate automatically, then click OK. Finally, choose Deactivate my account.

Result: Your Facebook account will be deactivated and stay locked until you decide to manually reactivate it.

Tip: If you only want to take a break without deleting your account permanently, deactivation is a safe and reversible option.
