Steps to recover the deleted messages on messenger

• Step 1: Tap the Menu icon and go to Settings.
• Step 2: Scroll down and select See more in Accounts Center.
• Step 3: Head to Your information and permissions, then tap Download your information.
• Step 4: Choose Download or transfer information, then select Specific types of information, tick Messages, and tap Next.
• Step 5: Choose Download to device, set Date range to All time, tap Save and finally hit Create files.

Result: A downloadable file containing your message history will be created and made available for download on your device.

Tip: Depending on how much data you have, generating the file may take some time—Facebook will notify you when it’s ready.
